Course offering - The Biblical View of the Student

This is the 3rd course in our series of courses on Stephen Kaufmann’s book "First the Foundation".

Course Summary:

Every student has God-given value and potential. What are the barriers to student development and how can we as teachers help them realize their value and potential? This class examines who our students are based on a biblical perspective and how this impacts the way they learn.

This course is available to anyone interested in understanding the student from a biblical perspective. You do not need to be a member of ACSI or even be currently teaching. We require a minimum of 10 participants to begin the course. Please contact us for more details or questions. 

Participation requirements and costs:

  • Time frame and requirements: 3-4 hours per week for 4 weeks (for fluent English speakers) which equals 12 class hours of instruction (2 Continuing Education Units)
  • Course fee: This depends on your ACSI membership status and region. Please see the price chart. Remember that ACSI member schools in Europe receive 2 complimentary 4-week courses each year.
  • The course fee includes digital versions of the reading materials and a digital certificate of completion.
  • If you have never taken an online class before or are unfamiliar with these topics, we recommend that you first complete our pilot course, The Mission of the Christian School.

Course Objectives: Participants will…

  1. Develop an understanding of the student from a biblical perspective.
  2. Identify specific aspects that are common and unique to individuals.
  3. Explain differences that make learning a challenge for particular students.
  4. Identify ways in which teaching can make students aware of their own potential.
  5. Share strategies for successful teaching and interact with the insights of other course participants.

 

Romanian Conference Reports 2024

Conferences for Christian school leaders and teachers in Romania included 2 regional teacher events and a special event for school leaders in 2024. This summarizes the events with some key feedback from the participants who benefited greatly from their time together and collaboration in learning.

Vocational Education Event Report 2024

It was a blessing to be with educators from five vocational schools to learn from each other ways that we can serve students who are gifted with more practical skills and abilities and may struggle with the academic setting.

4th Forum on Christian Education

The IV Christ-Centered Education Forum, held in Madrid under the theme “Strong Roots and Wings to Fly,” brought together educators, Christian leaders, and entrepreneurs focused on integrating faith into education. The forum provided a space to reflect on the challenges and opportunities of Christ-centered education in the country, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among institutions.

SLC report 2024

At SLC 2024, I recognized at this conference that my time abiding with God is one of the most formative and important parts of being a leader. I also saw myself realizing that I need to recognize my gifts in order to grow God's kingdom.
