February 2024 Ministry Highlights

Dear Praying Friends of ACSI Europe,

It is a joy to give you an update on the many things that are happening through ACSI Europe because of your prayers and support.

Yes, PRAYER is the most important thing to learn about and to accomplish God's goals. One of the important ACSI activities centered around PRAYER is the ACSI Global Day of Prayer for Christian Education. ACSI Europe also holds a joined prayer time every month for Christian school leaders from across Europe. Praying together – as brothers and sisters in Christ – is one of the most beautiful expressions of being part of the family of God. Prayer gives us the opportunity to encourage one another and to carry each other’s burdens, as we read in Galatians 6:2.

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Please join the ACSI global community of Christian schools in prayer for the needs of these schools and their teachers and students around the world. You can use the following link to see the world map with prayer requests to pray more specifically for those needs.
Day of Prayer – Map of Requests

January and February have been quite busy with lots of travels and activities. Praise God for the excellent ACSI leadership meetings in Dallas on January 13-19, 2024. We continue to pray for the ACSI Vision 2030 that it would honor God and bless and equip Christian schools and educators around the world for His glory.

In January we were also blessed to participate in important meetings in Brussels, Belgium to discuss how to provide and improve advocacy for Christian schools in an increasingly difficult political climate in Europe. ACSI USA has been instrumental in supporting these efforts.

Right after the meetings in Brussels I (Laci) travelled to Finland to participate in the annual Christian school leaders gathering and the annual Christian teachers conference. The Lord answered the many prayers, as the Brussels-Helsinki trip first looked almost impossible due to the farmers strike and blockades around Brussels, the airport security workers strike in Germany, and also the air traffic controllers strike in Helsinki. All of these on the day when I was flying to Helsinki via Frankfurt. Many flights were cancelled due to the above reasons, but my flights miraculously were on, and I was able to get to Finland without any problems. God answers prayers!!!

The meetings in Finland were also very blessed, and we witnessed the perseverance of the Christian school leaders and teachers fulfilling their call from God faithfully. The teachers' conference was on a Saturday, and yet Christian school teachers came from far away to be encouraged and to practice Christian fellowship and to be equipped for God's work.

In February, Laci and Bert Vogel participated in the Biennial Christian Schools Trust Leadership Conference in the UK. This was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our relationships with the Christian school leaders in the UK. This event provided many opportunities to learn about God's great work through Christian schools in the UK. The number of schools is growing, and we continue to pray for Christian teachers and leaders to be called into this beautiful ministry.

Finally, we invite you to be praying for our important upcoming event, the International Educational Leadership Conference in Budapest, Hungary on March 6-9, 2024. The theme for the event is "Anchors of HOPE for Christian Education". This conference will encourage Christian school leaders in areas where they are facing great challenges, like how to respond to the Gender Ideology and its implications to Christian schools or how to best use Artificial Intelligence to improve both academic and spiritual excellence. We look forward to welcoming about 160 participants representing 30+ countries. Please pray for the speakers and all the participants that God would use this time to encourage and prepare all of us for His ministry.

Thank you for your partnership for Christian education in Europe.

In Christ's love,

CSIP update for April 2022

Thank you for your participation in the Christian School Improvement Platform over the last 18 months! It has been a huge blessing to work more closely with our partner organizations and member schools as we consider how to better serve those in each country and language context.

Christian Schools Responding to Ukraine

These are difficult days but God is still working in us, in our students and in our schools as we serve Him together. Many are asking us, "How can we help Ukrainians?" Here are some resources for you and your schools.

International Class at DCU

The International Class consists of ten students from abroad and ten students currently enrolled at Driestar University.  It is meant to be a multi-cultural group where we focus on Christian education. This is a 3 month programme on campus in Gouda, The Netherlands.
