The Impact of the Christian Worldview on Teaching

  • 12 class hours of instruction, 3 hours per week for 4 weeks  (2 Continuing Education Units)

The Biblical View of the Student

The Christian Philosophy of Education

  • This course is designed to help Christian teachers develop in their understanding of a quality, Christian education and to assist them in the task of equipping students to influence their world through Biblical thought, character and action. This is accomplished by providing a foundation for a personal philosophy of Christian education. Selected readings, presentations and discussions will shape the writing of a 4-6 page “Philosophy of Christian Education” paper to summarize the learning of each participant. Participants will also apply this learning to the creation and delivery of a biblically integrated lesson in their subject area and target grade level.
  • This 8 week course begins in early February and is open to Christian teachers who are fluent in English.
  • 24 class hours of instruction in an ACSI approved course to complete the "Christian Philosophy or Education" requirement for teacher certification.

Totally Positive Teaching

  • Discipline problems, limited resources, crowded classrooms. Teachers face many issues each day that can wear down their love of education. How can they stay focused and energized day in and day out? In Totally Positive Teaching, Joseph Ciaccio shares an approach that transformed him from a burned-out veteran teacher struggling joylessly through each day to a professional who has fun with his students, guiding them to success while enjoying the teaching process.
  • This course is being redesigned for future use and is not currently available.
